Municipal Garage Originally constructed in 1921, the historic structure is a neo-gothic municipal repair garage adjoining a fire station -- constructed at the same time. Over the years, the municipal garage was sold separately from the fire station and the facade had been covered over to be forgotten for decades. The architects led the charge in both the discovery of the historic structure and in ensuring that the property was rejoined with the owner of the ajoining fire station. The project included preserving the facade to its near original condition by removing the paint overlay, locating replica terra cotta manufacturers to replace the damaged ornamentation, and tuck point the masonry joints. The interior was repurposed to a similar use that of it origins -- parking for the adjoining fire station which is now an office building. It is now a contributing property to both the National Downtown Historic District as well as the individual listing of the property on the National Historic Register.
